Explanation of Labels
TM# This is the Team Number you were assigned to. You were assigned based on your Sort Position after the roster of players was sorted by their rating average. Teams are created based on your position number. Each team will have a novice, two intermediate, and an advanced player. SORT POS This is the position for all the roster members. Your position would have been ‘1’ if you had the highest rating average. Add the numbers of any team's SORT POS and compare it to any other team's total SORT POS. They will be identical. Every team has an equal opportunity to finish as a winner. Avatar This is the name you chose to represent yourself on Chess.com. PLC Place. This is where your team finished at that day's event. Pts Points. I developed a formula for awarding points long ago. Basically, it's 4.8 times the total number of players on a roster. Not everyone wins first place, but I award points based on this ratio, so you will see there are points for second, third, fourth, and so on. Each player on a team receives the same number of points regardless of their contribution to the total. Average Your CURRENT Average is calculated using the rating you received from chess.com after a chess match. I request data from your chess.com matches and extract your ratings. Some days, they go up, and some days they go down. I add the previous seven ratings and divide the total by seven. That would be your entering average. For an event, I take the most recent match, add six previous matches, and divide by seven. That is your current average. PPM Players Performance Measurement. To determine a PPM, I subtract the starting average from the current average and the difference is your PPM. In this example, player x had a PPM of -. Their current average was 1304.571429 minus 1305.714286 equaled -1.142857. I had a PPM 3.428574 with an entering average of 752.428571 and a current average of 755.857143. TmPPM Team Total Player Performance Measurement. Individual PPM is added to the team's Total PPM to determine the winners of an event. COUNTRY The Country a player has identified as their country of origin on Chess.com. If they do not identify a country, it is labeled ‘unknown.’
